VOIP adapter for Teams

Hello -

We currently use Google Voice Business for domestic / international calling and for SMS.  We use a VOIP adapter (Obi 202) and this routes all of our calls to our VTech phones.

What can we use for Microsoft Teams to replicate this?

We'd like replace Google Voice Business with Teams for all of our calling and SMS.

Thanks.

To replicate your Google Voice/Obi VoIP setup in Microsoft Teams, you'll need a Microsoft 365 license with Teams Phone System. This enables VoIP calling and SMS within Teams, using either Microsoft Calling Plans (Microsoft manages phone numbers) or Direct Routing (you bring your own carrier via an SBC).

    Hi there,
I assume that you would like to replicate possibility to use your VTech phones, correct? Obi202 will not obviously work in use case with Teams Phone, or at least it will be not supported even if you try to play around with generic SIP configuration.
I believe that it is still in preview the possibility that you can use particular ATAs with your VTech phones and register them directly to Teams SIP gateway.
Might be already easier today to purchase new phones which are compatible with Teams SIP gateway directly.

Correct. The Obi202 works great with Google Voice.
Could you expound further on ..."I believe that it is still in preview the possibility that you can use particular ATAs with your VTech phones and register them directly to Teams SIP gateway".

I believe that one of the vendors can describe better than me 🙂
