Video calls and screen share make Teams and Windows 10 unusable
I'm on Teams 1.3.00.34662 (64-bit); Surface Pro 4 i7.
Every time I'm in a video-call it's impossible to browse the web.
Almost all of my colleagues who were also using Surfaces, decided to buy a new Lenovo laptop and get rid of the Surface.
Purely due to this Teams issue. Which I find rather ridiculous and a big lost opportunity for Microsoft. Those colleagues will not buy Surface again. And we now have a clear company advice against usage of Surfaces due to the Teams issues.
ErikBru I'm in the same position, I have 25 surface pro's in my team, all on lease deals, so stuck with them, as Microsoft just keep sending out replacements that all have same issue.
Hoping my fan solution will help temporarily, then we are on the road to non-Microsoft solutions.
- Have anyone had any luck with this issue? I bought a Surface pro 7 (fanless i5) i June 2020 and experienced this issue. Opened a case with Microsoft but they kept referring to future updates and disabling hardware GPU. My computer is fully patched and today, nine months later, I had a one-on-one Teams meeting and sharing screen reminded me about how it was to browse internet in the nineties with a 28.8 modem. This is really frustrating! As for now it seems the only solution is to buy hardware from other manufacturers.

fundamentally its a combination of Teams and the intel chip's inability to manage its power/heat to avoid throttling.
Very frustrating as we have fairly new Surface Pro in our little company in order do avoid compatibility issues with Microsoft software. Apparantly wrong decision. I agree it seems to be a throttling issues related to the fanless design even though Microsoft wont admint it. I have tried Intel Update and some versions of their driver have worked better and some have made the computer to hang.
