Usage of Org Wide Team

Looking for details on how others have used the org wide Team - what did you name it?  What was the main purpose of the Team - to communicate changes/tips/FAQs?  Did you allow replies or just use it for announcements? Who monitors/moderates the Team - is it your Service desk?  Any lessons learned by using it to pass on?
