Unsubscribe from Teams / Delete organiza

Good afternoon,

The owner of this account accidentally created a free organization for Teams with this account while wanting to join the enterprise one (i'm from the IT Support of his company). Could we get help to delete the teams organization he created? It's creating a lot of problems. He probably used the Free Teams Subscription to make it.

Thanks for your help,

  • Only an admin can delete a Teams free organization. You're automatically an admin if you created the Teams free org, or if another admin changed your role to admin.

    1. First, you need to remove all the people from the team (except yourself). To do this, sign in to the Teams free org you want to delete, click your profile pic at the top of Teams, then select Manage org. Click the X next to each person to remove them.

    2. Next, contact Microsoft Support via phone. Ask the support agent to delete the Teams subscription. This will in turn delete the Teams free org.

Since there is high usage currently there is probably a longer wait time get help from Microsoft Support.

I've contacted practically every support team from Microsoft... Office 365, subscriptions and cancellations, Office Home, Microsoft Store... And they finally send me here, at Microsoft Tech Community. Being an admin let you delete the groups of an organization, but not the organitzation itself.

      Thanks for your help,
