Unable to search and add some external Skype (Consumer) users
Not sure exactly what's happening, but some users I'm searching for to add in Teams aren't appearing at all, whether it is searching via their email or Skype ID. I've made sure that 'Users can communicate with Skype users' is on. Are account's created prior to the requirement of a Microsoft account for Skype (Consumer) not searchable at all? That's the only thing I can think of.

Note: like searching for SFB users this can be a bit fiddly so it is recommended, if you don’t see this after trying several times, to ensure a.) That your client is updated b.) That external access for Skype users is enabled and for propagation time to occur. If all this has been done, try rewriting, re-typing the .com at the end which often triggers it or adding/removing a white space after you have typed the Skype users address
Also to add to this, avoid copy and pasting. Most of the time it works. Also, it won't work if they have blocked you on the Skype Consumer end, or if you are reaching out to someone who is Skype for Business, they only allow federations with specific domain. If everything else fails, get them to add your email from the Skype end, should work
Hope that answers your question
