Unable to create new Teams free organization

When I originally signed up for Teams free, I used the wrong organization name. I've been trying to delete the organization, but so far have only been able to remove myself from the organization. After I removed myself, though, I can no longer sign into Teams. It tells me "You're not on Teams yet, but you can set it up for your organization." When I follow the links to set up Teams, I enter my email address for my Microsoft account, and it tells me, "You already have Teams! Sign in to your Teams account to enjoy all the benefits." But, if I try to sign in.... see above. And around and around I go.

Any idea how to fix this?
