Tracking tasks in teams

Is anyone aware of a way to track tasks assigned to other people on multiple teams? I know how to see all tasks assigned to me however, I would like to see tasks I have assigned to other people across multiple teams so I can monitor due dates at a higher level and not have to go into every individual team.

KimSmed  Another (slightly easier) workaround would be to add a website tab for each planner board into a channel of your choice.

Go to your board > click "Copy link to Plan" to get the URL > go into your Team channel > create a new Website Tab > paste the URL into that field.

As this is literally just a website view, so you'll need to login with your O365 cred to see the board, but it will allow you to view boards across multiple teams within a single team channel.

Disclaimer: this will only work in the Teams Desktop app (the web browser app doesn't load Website tabs).

  • Keep an eye out at ignite next week. Seen quite a few sessions around task collaboration.

ChrisWebbTechi'm hoping something comes out Ignite to address this issue specifically.  I'm always hearing about how people need a central way to manage tasks across multiple boards/teams but the answer is "just get Project" which is not a solution for most.  Hoping the Planner team can close the gap more with more robust collaboration functionality next year.

KimSmedUnfortunately tasks are contained to their specific board and group, so there's no easy way to get a consolidated view across multiple groups and boards.   Even Planner's Flow integration is extremely limited right now, so there's not much you can do with it.

One potential path to getting a consolidated view of tasks is to (1) manually export each of your Planner boards to an Excel file, (2) save each one onto SharePoint and (3) somehow pull all of that data into a single report with your dashboards (excel again?), and then adding that report into a tab in MS Teams.
