The Return of the General Channel
Last year, Microsoft removed the need to have a General channel in a team. Now the General channel is making a comeback, and you can choose to have one in a team. If you choose to have a General channel, it appears at the top of the channel list. If not, Teams sorts the channel list alphabetically. In other news, code snippets are being replaced by code blocks and the end of classic Teams is nigh.

Why were code snippits removed?
.... the answer is in the article...

I saw that Tony. Part of the problem is it doesn't have the same character count that the code blocks had. It makes it inefficient if you scale beyond like 100 or 500 characters. My use case is I have log outputs which aren't necessarily huge, but it fit in the code block but not in the new code snippit. Can the character count be increased then?
Thank you for responding. I appreciate that.

That's a good news. We used to use this a lot in our small organisation.

We have a team that existed for a long time and has always had a General channel. The list of channels now appears alphabetically sorted with General channel NOT at the top :( This is breaking years of muscle memory
