Teams Video Clips location
As you know you can send short video clips in Teams chats for a little while now. We wonder where those clips (and also the short voice messages that can be send via Teams Mobile App) are actually stored. It obviously is not OneDrive as we haven't found it there. Maybe it is just completely hidden for end users (and admins)? Maybe it sits somewhere in the (shadow) mailbox? Haven't found this information in any public documentation of this feature. Any advise is highly appreciated.
- It’s processed in Azure (Cosmos DB) in the tenant region. Reach out to your MS representative?

Oh thaaaaaaaaaaaank you for this thread, it was driving me crazy that I could not find a storage location. But is it the same with clips that you record for a Teams channel? its exactly the same function as described for chats

How can I programmatically download these video clips? We've developed a Teams Bot app and need access to the video clips for one of our use cases. Bot app backend provides a link to the clip in its message, we're unable to download it using a GET request or axios.
We attempted to integrate SSO authentication via Microsoft Entra ID and generate an auth token to access the APIs. However, we still cannot download the clip. Are there any specific permissions required to download the file?
I've included a link to the detailed question I posted on the community forum below.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
- Hey, it's basically simply a chat message including a clip and will follow the chat lifecycle. But there's no storage like SharePoint or OneDrive as noted. The chat message is being processed in Azure and ingested into the diffuse substrate for compliance.

ChristianJBergstrom To be honest, this answer confuses me even more
(...) "and ingested into the diffuse substrate" - what?!
- Haha, get that. Let me rephrase. Not stored as a clip anywhere but can be searched for using the compliance tools, like eDiscovery.
