Teams Status issues

Is something going on with Teams status?  We're suddenly having status issues with the Teams client.  We've been Teams only mode now for 8+ months with little issue, besides maybe some status updates being a minute or two behind.  Now in the last few days, a few users (including myself) are having many issues.

  • On the 23rd I had all status go to "unknown".  I could not change my status in the client or reset.  Web interface and phone seemed OK.  Eventually reinstalled teams and got most status back, but not accurate
  • The 26th status that should be affected by calendar was not.  For instance, a meeting from 9-10AM normally shows as "busy" (and verified in Outlook settings), but everyone still sees me and a few other attendees as "Available", and our Teams status did not update.
  • This afternoon I'm seeing half of our users as "unknown" and the other half seem to be accurate and up to date.  My status again is not updating - Active in teams for 20 minutes and I still show "away," and I cannot manually change it or reset it.

This is similar to another recent thread:

Anyone know of issues going on at MS or changes being made?

    Eric_H ,

Some of us at my company have noticed similar issues with Teams Statuses over the past several days. It seems to only occur for people using the 'New Teams' client. With that client, some of us have noticed that your status will still show you are 'in a call' hours after your call has ended, or your status is still 'do not disturb' hours after your focus time has ended. I checked and there are no listed service health advisories or incidents Microsoft has on this matter. This appears to be a bug or issue that Microsoft should be aware of. I am opening a case witih them about it.
