Teams site file check out
I want to disable check-out of documents connected Teams site. Even if I have managed it in the Sharepoint library it does not follow into the Teams site. Is there a setting to disable the check-out...

Hi,
Yes I did log-off Teams on desktop and exit the app. In Teams channel, selecting a file, and click the --- dots, I can still see the option to check out and it still works. I opened a case with MS, lets see what they say.

Ah, you mean that. Well, the setting in the library is called:
"Require documents to be checked out before they can be edited?" Yes/No.
So basically you can only select if it's required or not. It wont affect the above option you mention as that's just a manual check out of the file.

I bet it is a global setting in Teams, not individual to the Channel- Mar 08, 2022It's nothing in Set-SPOTenant or Set-SPOSite from what I can tell, and I'm certain there's nothing in Teams admin for that either.
Let me know what MS support says!- DropjeMar 17, 2023Copper Contributor
Hi Christian
I have the same problem.
I have blocked in the Sharepoint library settings the check-out of the documents but as the folder is linked to a channel team if someone make the check-out from the channel in teams the file is blocked for all the people that are commenting and reviewing.
I didn't understand in the messages before if there is a solution, for example maybe there is a different permission between Owner and Member so if someone is member can't do the check out?
Because I can made all the people member (I am new in this company and when they start to use Team in Teams the add all the user as Owner (!)
