Teams site file check out
I want to disable check-out of documents connected Teams site. Even if I have managed it in the Sharepoint library it does not follow into the Teams site. Is there a setting to disable the check-out...

Hello, that's interesting. I tried just now by changing the "require check out" to Yes and immediately I couldn't work as I normally do (edit, co-author) in Teams. So I changed back to No and no issue to open my files directly in edit mode and so on.
Did you try with the desktop app only? Perhaps you need to release some cache for the setting to take effect. Sign out manually from top right corner and right-click on the bottom right Teams icon and select Quit, and try again. While you're at it try with Teams on the web to verify that the settings is actually activated/deactivated.

- VirtualTechMar 08, 2022Brass ContributorHi,
Yes I did log-off Teams on desktop and exit the app. In Teams channel, selecting a file, and click the --- dots, I can still see the option to check out and it still works. I opened a case with MS, lets see what they say.- Mar 08, 2022Ah, you mean that. Well, the setting in the library is called:
"Require documents to be checked out before they can be edited?" Yes/No.
So basically you can only select if it's required or not. It wont affect the above option you mention as that's just a manual check out of the file.- VirtualTechMar 08, 2022Brass Contributorcorrect. I need to figure out is there is a way to disable the manual check out the file in Teams.
I bet it is a global setting in Teams, not individual to the Channel
