Teams posts sort order
Today on one of my laptops with windows 11 after updates and reboot any of my given teams channels posts sort order has swapped. Now the most recent post is on top. Looking at any chats the sort is still with newest on bottom. How can I swap the sort order back to newest on bottom? version 1.6.00.11605

Yes, now the new Teams has an option for Post sort order. The three dots near the top right of the Channel Post panel shows this option. Now I am happy.
And if you don't see the option that RannyMeier shows then quit and restart the app. That made the option appear for me, as well as restored the old thread order.
I've been trying to find the thread in which this "feature" was originally requested. ( I'd be tempted personally contact each of those voters, and ask if they're happy with how the change has been implemented - it's hard to imagine they would be ).
I see there is a suggestion now in the feedback portal to make the sort order an individual preference. Allow Sort order to be set according to individual preference.
I have added my vote there, and will repost this message on all the various threads where this awful change is being discussed.
- I suspect this was brought up internally before public release, yet MS has removed the option to disable this nonsensical sorting.
As has been pointed out, chats & channels should be consistent.
And, worse, channels are not even simply in reversed order with newest at top instead of bottom. Instead, newest are buried somewhere in the middle. The top is the oldest post in a thread with the newest post. So it's not even self-consistent on whether new or old should be top or bottom. Threads sorted newest at top, posts sorted newest at bottom. Who thought this would be a good idea?
I honestly don't care if they leave that weird sorting AS AN OPTION, in case anybody actually likes it. But there needs to be an option available for sorting that is consistent with chat sorting. (And internally self-consistent!) - I hate this change too. It is unnecessary and annoys the users. 😡
Yes, please let us revert the sort order. I understand how newest on top can be beneficial, but having a different sort for channels and chat is asinine and terrible. I would prefer if new was always on the bottom to match the chat. Having chat we at the top would be awful.
That's just not how it operates on phones or messengers, or anywhere.
Give people choices, stop making it all no choice and f u!
Dave Patrick I agree that at the very least the option to revert should be added. We did not ask for this change and should not be FORCED to live with it. I work for a large MSP and our clients are also not happy with this change either!
