Teams owner approval loop

Good day,

I have an issue with my Teams tenant where the owner of the team is stuck in an approval loop; i.e. she adds a user to the team, however instead if being able to add, it states 'request access'; upon selecting to approve the access mail generated, she is then taken back to the team to add a member and so the process continues looping.

Adding/ removing the user will not help as she is owner to multiple teams, this happens across all.

Please advise.
