Teams member left the company
Teams member left the company and we want to give him access as a guest with his external email address and it doesn't work ; it says unable to add user. It is like if Teams is associating the external email address to the previous company address. When I go in AAD and search for the external email address, it shows the user with his old email company address. How is this possible ? Any suggestion on how to investigate / solv

Well it seems its old, internal user account is still available. It's a common practice for some organizations to keep the accounts for past employees in disabled state, or sometimes even in enabled state with simply changing the password. See if you can remove it?
