When creating a Teams meeting via the Outlook Add-inn, the time defaults to 24 hours. Can this be changed?

The issue occurs when the Outlook calendar is in month view. I'm able to reproduce the issue as follows.Launch Outlook and navigate to the Calendar viewChoose "Month" from the "Arrange" section of the ribbonClick the "New Teams Meeting" button in the ribbonExpected result: A new Meeting window opens with a start time and end time corresponding to the "Default duration for new appointments and meetings" set in Outlook Options > Calendar Actual result:A new Meeting window opens with a start time of 12:00am on today's date, and an end time of 12:00am the following day

We have the same issue here. Thank you Ryan Steele for sharing your findings and thank you ChristianBergstrom for your tip to use the Feedback tool in the Outlook client to report it.

FakeName I too have been embarrassed by this issue. I don't have a solution, but do have a workaround that I believe will prevent you from creating a 24 hour meeting by accident:Open Outlook in Calendar view.Check to see that the "Microsoft Team Meeting" is showing on the ribbon.Right click the ribbon and select "Customize the ribbon..."In the "Home (Calendar) section on the right side of the screen, remove "Teams"Click OK.Your Calendar view should no longer be showing the "Microsoft Teams Meeting" button. To create a new meeting, just select the "new meeting" button, once inside the new meeting dialogue box, the "Teams Meeting" button should still be there. Just click it and it will insert the Teams meeting link in the bottom of your invite, while maintaining your default meeting selections (30 min, 1 hour, etc.) The bug appears to be when you start the add-in from the Calendar view only, so by removing it in that view, you won't mistakenly activate the bug. Hope this helps.

Hi, Is there anyone getting feedback on this yet? I see that the issue was reported about 2 years ago.It's a very annoying default, that I forget to change at least a few times a week, when scheduling meetings. Pernille-Eskebo anything??

Thanks for this last Post.I always use Month view in Outlook Calendar. In any other view, if I 'click' on a Start Time for the intended meeting, and then click on 'New Teams Meeting' in the ribbon bar, I can now say that this method DOES use the default 00:30 mins (in my case) set for a meeting duration.Not my usual, work flow, but can adapt knowing this.For MS, I would still like to use the same workflow as 'New Appointment', they should work the same!! Start in Month View, click the day, click 'New Teams Meeting', change the Start Time, and the end time defualts to 30mins after...

Which version of Outlook is that? Mine sets it correctly to 30 mins.

Does it happen for all meetings, or just Teams ones? What is the default value for meeting duration set?

You can check it via Options -> Calendar -> Calendar options -> Default duration for new appointments and meetings.

Also check the mailbox-level one via Get-MailboxCalendarConfiguration user | select DefaultMeetingDuration

  VasilMichev Only happens with Teams-meetings. Most recent Outlook version from o365 subscripion.
  
  The setting from options does not make any impact here. I have tried the default being 30 minutes and 1h.
  
  Image attached of what happens when I open New Teams meeting. The default time is 24hrs. Its quite annoying. I have sent several invites that are over 1 day long as I have forgot to change the date also.

    J3000 I realize the original post I'm responding to was from March 2020, but I also have the same issue with my copy of Outlook, so thought I'd provide some version information. I'm running Outlook version 2009, Build 13231.20262. Hope that helps. Having Teams meetings default to 24 hours is a bit of a pain.
