Teams crashes my computer and restarts it
- Oct 03, 2019I’d suspect it’s the video/ cam drivers! Update those to start with
I'm experiencing similar issue if i start sharing my screen during Teams call. Updated all the drivers on the machine, but issue still persists.

ilya_i I had exactly the same problem. My computer crashed and restarted when I started sharing the screen. I finally solved it uptading the driver/adapter of the graphics. You have to go to start/settings/devices/display settings/advanced display settings/display adapter properties for Display 1 (it will open a new window)/properties (it will open a new window)/driver/update driver/
I hope it's useful.

atavn_9 Hey, so for my current Teams meeting, I have no sound at all. Everyone else on the call can hear - I'm getting a message that there's no speaker detected for the program. This is clearly something that changed after I updated my drivers last night. Help????

SandraBender Hey, I think you should look in the microphone privacy setting, it's probably off. Nothing you didn't, it's something else Microsoft won't fix.

atavn_9 Thank you so much! I tried this once before and it didn't solve it, but I just tried it again. We'll see how it goes at my next Teams meeting! Really appreciate the specific step-by-step walk-through!

Teams crashed my computer 3 times in a 2 hour video meeting this morning. I rely on Team video daily and this crashing is now happening multiple times a week. This is getting ridiculous. My computer doesn't crash except for when I'm in a Teams video call.
I use a Logitech BRIO camera. I was told by my IT guy to reinstall the camera device drivers a few weeks ago, which I did. No change to the frequent crashes. The crashes are immediate (no warning), shut down the computer completely, and then the computer starts up on its own.
Please help!

GGiallonardo I am a student and i have multiple classes in one day and my computer crashes up to 5 times a day and teachers mark me absent due to the technical difficulty .
- garygiallonardoFeb 22, 2021Copper ContributorThanks for responding and I would definitely show your teacher these posts. You are not alone and shouldn’t be held accountable. I actually got a new computer which ultimately solved my Teams video crashing. Microsoft did not help.
