Teams chat unresponsive after pasting a log file of 16000+ lines

I pasted a log file of 16k+ lines from my project in the teams chat during a chat with my colleague and after that no  matter whichever option I attempted, the Teams app would hang and become unresponsive. I was able to send messages to the same individual using the Teams app on my phone, but I had difficulty doing so on my laptop. Clearly, there is a bug with the software. Please take a look at it. If more information is needed, I can provide it.

  • Sigma_M Logging out and logging back in does saved me. The option to use Ctrl+A and Ctrl+X did not work for me.

Was someone able to work out a fix here? Closing/Quitting and restarting the Teams app is also not solving the issue.

I had this same issue with about 5000 lines pasted into Teams by accident.

Any attempt at deleting anything more than a few lines at a time in the box would lock up Teams.

But Ctrl-A (Select-All) and then Ctrl-X (Cut) worked.  And worked nearly instantly.

How big was the file and what format was it? I'm assuming that you were posting the file, not the contents of the file.

Avisarika_Tripathy  have the same issue, any idea how to fix this.  Note, I didn't send the message simply paste it in the chat box.

The following worked for me, since I was unable to log out.

    1. Windows Key
    2. "Add or Remove Programs"
    3. "Microsoft Teams"
    4. Click, then click "Advanced Options"
    5. Under Reset, click Reset
