Teams channels vanished overnight
Just as an update, our channels just reappeared without us doing anything...
Symptoms seen:
We had channels that had been deleted existing in both Active and Deleted areas.
When trying to recreate one of the channels that had disappeared, it gave an error that the channel already existed. But a search for the channel returned nothing.
Chat / activity history for the missing channels was still showing, but it could not be accessed.
Now, the missing channels are back. The deleted channels only appear in deleted areas and not active. So it is restored. Had to set some restored channels from hidden to show.
As we are moving to more extensive use of teams, this makes me nervous.....
Can the Teams support in MS provide some update that they know what is happening.
StevenB2B We've had the missing channels reappear and disappear again for some users. I think the measure of this solution, however it came about, will be if it sticks beyond a few hours/couple days

Jacob_R Not sure if this is the same issue, but I've had channels disappear overnight on the Mac MS Teams desktop app in the last 2 days, the channels will still be present on the Web version of MS Teams. I found mention of someone suggesting a fix, if there are multiple owners for the Team that the missing channel is under, change one owner to member and then back again, check if the channel reappears on the desktop app. This actually worked for me.
My desktop MS Teams app was last updated on April 14th, about the same time I started experiencing the missing channel issues. This seems to be a bug that is happening to quite a few people. Hopefully Microsoft will address this problem soon. I just checked the health tab of the MS 365 Admin Center and found there is a service health incident addressing this. It didn't mention a fix though. If anyone is experiencing missing channels, can't hurt to try the process above.

Channel was not visible in the Teams web app either. After using my tenant admin account to verify nothing was changed, I found your post and toggle myself from owner to member and back to owner resolved the issue for me. Thanks!

I had a team with several standard and private channels. 5 of the standard channels disappeared from the Desktop app and the Teams admin center. I could see them on the user's mobile (I did a remote support session to the mobile to verify this as well as screenshots). On the mobile, he could click around, view chats and files, but on the Desktop app they didn't exist. I didn't get a chance to try the web version of teams because the next day, the channels returned, along with the chats/files. Magically they had disappeared and just as magically they returned. The fact that they were missing from the Teams admin center was really disconcerting.
