Teams call controls on jabra headset not working
- Jul 28, 2021
I found a solution for my Jabra Speak 510 where the controls and LEDs did not work for teams on USB - Bluetooth worked.
Change the Driver to "Jabra SPEAK 510 (Sound Research)" to "Jabra SPEAK 510 USB (Sound Research)" by selecting available drivers.
No everything is fine again. Seems to be that Windows selected the wrong driver after updating to 20H2...
owler_77I'm having the same issue with the same headset. It's been working flawlessly for months, but, a couple of weeks ago the Answer/End Call buttons stopped working in Teams. I've updated firmware for both the headset and the Link and uninstalled/reinstalled Jabra Direct. No change.

Jabra Direct seems to be the culprit. My Jabra speaker worked fine with Teams for years until I installed Jabra Direct to get their updates and then it starting causing all kinds of problems with Teams like not being able to use the hang up button for meetings (I could on Teams calls, not meetings) and even undocking and redocking my Surface would cause it to not even recognize the Jabra speaker anymore unless I rebooted. I un-installed Jabra Direct and it works fine again.
- cbow305Oct 29, 2020Copper ContributorThanks for the insight! Mine randomly started working this week, with no updates, so the mystery is still alive. I'm afraid to touch anything now, but if it stops working again, I'll try your method.

Removed all the software, and found some lurking software still running but NO CHANGE so far.

Same here with Jabra Evolve 80 Link.
Update:
I think I found out why this happened, and it is not good news. In fact it seems that the regression may have been intentional: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams-blog/introducing-new-teams-certified-devices/bc-p/1415618#M5682

Ole_Martin That is concerning. If this is intentional to promote new line of Teams products, it is problematic in many ways and will most certainly hurt MS Teams in a long run.

Indeed!
On the positive side; the latest firmware upgrade of my headset (through Jabra Direct) made it Teams Certified. So that is something at least.
And - knock on wood - I have not experienced this problem for over a week now...edit: virtually knocking on wood did not help, the jinx hit me straight away 😞
Again I am unable to hang up using the controls. It beeps to confirm the click, and then nothing.
- MaWestMay 20, 2020Copper ContributorHi,
I’ve been in contact with plantronic support. They say that Microsoft states that if Teams run in island mode that device controls are not supported or that issues with it are known.
I have tried to set my client to teams only mode and now I wait on changes to apply so I can test.- owler_77May 20, 2020Copper Contributor
MaWest What annoys me is that the likes of Jabra and Plantronics sell this functionality, but they don't seem to be pushing the issue with Microsoft on our behalf. Meanwhile, their customers have to spend wasted hours, fiddling with settings, deleting/reinstalling, calling customer support, turning machine off and on etc. with zero success! The last message I recieved from Jabra, was that it looks like a Microsoft issue, so to wait for an update to resolve it.

Same here. I was just getting crazy. Call control worked for while and suddenly stopped working. I have JABRA EVOLVE2 65 MS Teams. I contacted JABRA and it was not easy. But what I got is that some gibberish regarding Island mode and MS issues and that they cannot help but they are surely not responsible, although they are advertising a device as having the best collaboration with Teams but actually there is no collaboration at all. I contacted MS support as well, but they said that I should contact my IT. You can imagine how much my IT care about my JABRA headset issue. And actually this is my headset and it should work with Teams but everybody who should provide support is just telling me bull**bleep**.
I reinstalled everything including Windows. It is so annoying. It seems that it nobody's responsibility.
