Teams Breakout Rooms - external participants
Hi,
Yes, that is possible to invite external users and have them participate in a breakout room. As long as your organisation allows external participants in meetings.
LinusCansby Thank you so much for your helpful response.
I'm also trying to understand why those users who enter a meeting as a guest (those who seem to come in via a link to the meeting, through the browser and don't authenticate?) are not able to be assigned to breakout rooms. I'm just trying to get my own brain to understand the how and why so I can advise students on coming in to the meeting in the correct way.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

BrewedbyGemma That should work, I tested it now. Unauthenticated users that joins as guests can be assigned to a Breakout room. Do you get an error why you try it?

As an external user I was put into a breakout and when I wanted to join, I got the message “unauthorised”. I was an external guest.
