Its the new calling experience is in the rollout at the moment.
Its a new feature; The user didnt do anything "wrong"

This was a totally unexpected "feature" of this update. Many in our organization now waste time trying to correct this "feature". This is a poor layout.
And to have the call history as the main focus is also a privacy issue in a working enviroment.
