Team / Channel - Visual Centering / Highlighting
Similar to how the search function in OneNote works - when searching for items in Teams, when a selection is clicked - it would be great to have the Team and Channel that the selection is within.... to show center and highlighted in the screen. Current state requires a user to scroll/search through the teams to find the same Team/Channel that the selection chosen in the right side of the screen is already on.
Eric_Weller Yes! This annoys me too. The good news is that it's coming in New Teams for search items in a channel. The team/channel list will highlight and centre (where it can) the channel for context.
Search for "remote"
Result highlighted and the channel list scrolls to the correct channel
Note: the highlight isn't a black border, the snipping tool did that - the box is highlighted with a yellow border that fades and a grey box. The 'Go to channel' button at the top-right is also takes you to the full channel.
The bad news, I guess, is that we'll probably have to wait until New Teams rolls out before we see it available.

Eric_Weller The New Teams is in preview at the moment but there are still a lot of features that haven't been implemented yet that are in the current version.

Your admin can allow people to test it out, but I personally wouldn't try to use it as a day-to-day app because it still feels very beta.

1. Utilize the search bar: Teams has a search bar at the top of the interface. Enter your search query in the search bar and press Enter to see the search results.
2. Refine your search: If you're searching for specific items within a particular Team or Channel, you can refine your search by using specific keywords along with the search query. For example, if you're looking for a document named "Proposal" within the "Marketing" channel of the "Sales Team," you can search for "Proposal in Marketing channel of Sales Team."
3. Observe search results: When you click on a search result, Teams should navigate you to the relevant location automatically. If you're already on the same Team and Channel that the selection is within, you may not notice any visual changes. However, if you're on a different Team or Channel, Teams will switch to the appropriate location.
4. Use breadcrumbs: To check which Team and Channel you are currently viewing, you can look at the breadcrumbs near the top of the screen. They typically appear just below the Teams navigation bar and show the hierarchy of your current location.
Although Teams doesn't currently display the Team and Channel information alongside search results, following these steps can help you locate and navigate to the relevant location more efficiently.
