Space bar not working / extra spaces added while typing in Teams chat (Mobile)

Hi everyone,

I'm facing an issue in the Microsoft Teams mobile app while trying to send a chat message. When I type on the keyboard, the space bar isn't working correctly — it's either adding extra unwanted spaces or not registering properly, making it hard to type and send a normal message.

Details:

App: Microsoft Teams (Mobile)

Issue occurs while: Typing a message in a chat

Behavior: Space key malfunction / extra spaces in the text box

This doesn't happen in other apps, only in Teams

I've attached a screenshot showing the issue. Has anyone else faced this? Any fix or workaround would be really helpful.

    Hi krishna_05, because this happens only in Teams mobile and not in other apps, I would first treat it as an app cache or keyboard compatibility issue. Update Teams and your keyboard app, then fully close Teams and reopen it. Also test with the default phone keyboard instead of a third-party keyboard, because Teams can behave differently with predictive text and autocorrect. If the problem continues, reinstall Teams and test before changing any settings. If it still happens after a clean install, include your phone model, OS version, Teams version, and keyboard app when reporting it.
