Shared calling policy enabled user can not login to teams sip gateway enabled phones like VVX400/500
once you have the shared calling policy set up for the user run the following powershell command:
Set-CsPhoneNumberAssignment -Identity email address removed for privacy reasons -PhoneNumber "1112223333;ext=4444" -PhoneNumberType DirectRouting
you can put anything in the phone number field as long as it is unique. don't worry that it says direct routing your shared calling policy will supersede it. once the user has a unique number it should sign into the SIP device. we have vvx201 and vvx401

Thanks for this! I tried to set that before with only an extension but it didn't work. It does seem to be working with a full number in addition to an extension! I'll just make up some numbers with the extension as the last digits. Wish they would allow us to just set the extension or set the main number for multiple users just so it's cleaner. But either way, this lets me test for now. Thanks again.

I think Microsoft is still working on a cleaner configuration to use sip gateway for sip devices
