Returned Assignments displaying as Assigned assignment in student view

MS Teams is showing assignment that has been marked and returned to a student in the "Assigned" category.  The work has been uploaded and turned in by the student.  Work has been marked and returned by remains in the assigned category for the student.  Have anyone else had this issue before and how can this be resolved?
