Retention Policies for Chats and Channels

Hi everyone!  If anyone would be willing to share their retention policies around chats and channels that would be great- I am trying to get a sense of how long people are keeping 1:1 chats and channel messages.

I have seen delete chats after 90 days, but I know users like to search their chat history- wondering what limitation your orgs are using to ensure you don't save everything but still allow users to utilize the search capability to make their lives easier.  Any thoughts/feedback would be appreciated.  Thank you!

Never. There is tremendous value in retaining as much history as you can, you never know when a comment or idea made in passing will reap rewards months, or even years later.

Lawyers and such would argue for legal reasons that data should be archived and/or deleted after certain periods of time, but lawyers don't generate revenue. It usually isn't hard to make the case for retaining the data indefinitely.
