Teams invitation, from Teams app vs Calendar forward
DJP7171 this is indeed not a direct Teams issue (we are not sure exactly where the metadata is getting lost at this point, but likely Outlook). However, since Teams is the only affected app, I am trying to escalate this from my end.
I don't directly work with support, so if you have an active support ticket, please ask it to be promoted to Outlook engineering. This will escalate it beyond anything I can do on my end.
While we are trying to figure out where metadata is missing, we are going to make a local Teams fix for all cases when a join link is present in the meeting invite, but might be missing from metadata. This is not straight-forward, so it will take some time to release.

It did get resolved for me in an Outlook update. This was an issue with Outlook stripping the meeting details.
Perhaps reinstall outlook?
- MajorOlumoFeb 22, 2022Copper ContributorI am still facing this same issue
- SteveKlassenAug 19, 2021Brass ContributorI can confirm it works... we have the exact same setup.
First question... what license are you using for the Dedicated Room Mailbox? We use an Intune license, and F3 license to save on cost.
Yes, our X50 has the latest firmware. Our only issue right now is when we forward an invite that was sent to a personal email, to the boardroom, outlook again breaks the join info. Microsoft had fixed it, but it is broken again. If you forward the invite via the outlook web access though, that works. But we've never had an issue joining an external meeting where it was sent directly to the boardroom. If you want... I can send you a test meeting invite to your boardroom, and you can send a test meeting invite to my boardroom if you want to test it out. If you want to do this... I suggest you set up a temporary email address and redirect it to the real boardroom email address so that you don't give your real boardroom address to the forum trolls. - ITatWorkAug 19, 2021Copper ContributorWe're still experiencing an issue that appears related - Teams mode on a Poly X50, X50 has its own dedicated Room mailbox to which meeting invitations are sent. Meeting invitations within the Tenant work, meeting invitations from external tenants appear on the X50 but cannot be joined. X50 is running latest firmware and latest Teams application?

IanSchivas Yes. This issue was identified by Microsoft as an issue with Outlook forwarding the Teams invitations. Microsoft has resolved this in a recent update to outlook.
- IanSchivasAug 04, 2021Copper ContributorHi - We are having the same issue.
Has there been any solution for this?
Thanks,

And you should be able to reach Cromer. - Pavel YurevichApr 29, 2021Former EmployeeDo you mind telling me the Outlook version you are using? I don't see Cromer D in MSFT contacts for some reason, so I cannot reach out to them.
- SteveKlassenApr 29, 2021Brass ContributorFirst:
You need two different email tenants or domains. I set up a trial tenant with the Microsoft tech today.
Second:
A teams meeting invite is sent from and email account at one tenant/domain, to an email account at the other tenant/domain.
Third:
The invite is accepted, and then the email account that accepted uses the outlook client to forwards it to the resource/boardroom. This will result in the boardroom device not being able to join the meeting that was forwarded to it.
If the email account that accepted it uses the outlook web client to forward it to the resource/boardroom, then the forwarding works and boardroom is able to join.
It does appear to be related to outlook breaking the meeting invite. - Pavel YurevichApr 28, 2021Former EmployeeThanks. Do you mind posting the steps here? At this point I just need a repro steps for our developers, so they know that their fix worked. I must have been doing something wrong because I was not able to reproduce.
- SteveKlassenApr 28, 2021Brass ContributorI just did a test with:
Cromer D.

This issue is still happening with the new Poly firmware 3.3.2.
I showed Cromer D this post, and we gathered logs with him. - SteveKlassenApr 26, 2021Brass Contributor

SteveKlassen Pepad Aro_A Casper73 DJP7171 Have any of you tested this on the update that we released last week? Poly firmware 3.3.2. As I mentioned before, we have made targeted fixes in this release. We want to make sure that we narrow down the problem use cases. I have personally tried this again this morning since we also allocated some development time to fix the remainder of issues, but I am not able to reproduce in my test environment. I am testing Mac next, but Windows Outlook, Outlook Web App, and Teams forwarding works within the same organization and across the organizations.
- SteveKlassenApr 19, 2021Brass ContributorNo solution yet. Call Microsoft. Open up a case, or quote my open case #. I actually have three.
Ticket # 23769867 - this ticket was closed... and Microsoft can't re-open it they tell me. This is the original ticket from months ago that was not solved.
This my second ticket, asking for the previous ticket(above) to be re-opened since the issue was not resolved. Ticket # 24405728
This is a new ticket Microsoft opened to track new details in a different department. Ticket # 24450109 - Aro_AApr 19, 2021Copper Contributor

Microsoft has already admitted that that Outlook strips the TEAMS metadata out of forwarded meetings invites. And this affects all boardroom devices, which require that metadata to connect to the meeting.
- PepadMar 25, 2021Copper ContributorDevice is same: polycom - poly studio x50.

Pepad can you confirm what room devices you are using?
