Microsoft Teams Desktop on Mac Stuck in Login Loop

    I’ve got this login loop after I logged in with me private MS account in Teams. I stucken in a login loop when I tried to log with my company account in Teams. Close your Teams application and go to $HOME//Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Teams in files browser and delete/move the Teams folder to Teams_old for example.

     

    Start your Teams application, the Teams folder will created and the Login window appears.

     

    For me it works, when I delete the $HOME//Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Teams folder after I was logged in with me private MS account.

    FWIW, the firs suggestion worked for me.

    Here were the steps I took:
    1) I made sure to remove Teams from login items so it did not auto-start and disabled background operations.
    2) I restarted macos.
    3) Renamed $HOME//Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Teams to $HOME//Library/Application Support/Microsoft/old_Teams
    4) Started Teams
    5) When it asked if it wanted to login with my default credential, I chose the link at the bottom left for the alternate method which gave me the ability to type in my credentials and authenticate manually.
    6) That allowed me in and everything seems okay.

    As a final test, I also explicitly Quit (but did not sign out) and restarted Teams, and it connected me back automatically without any prompts.

    FYI: I'm on Ventura 13.6 on an M2 Pro-based MacBook Pro. Teams 1.6.00.11156

    this seems to be an issue with Teams not supporting multiple outlook accounts.


    Microsoft really need to address this, other apps like Google Meet work fine, it’s becoming a major turn off for many Mac users now.

    Heiko1410 Thanks.  This worked for me on my Mac to remove an account and the endless sign-in loop to Teams where it was asking for me to sign-in with my credentials for a company I consulted with a while back and am no longer associated with.

     

    To recap for others: On my Mac I renamed $HOME/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Teams to "Teams.old" and then also removed any Identities Cache credentials in my Keychain (on the Mac - open finder, go to applications, utilities, keychain access, search for teams, removed any Identities Cache entries in Keychain Access).  After that I restarted MS Teams and it came up asking me to select an account to login with.  I was then able to login to MS Teams with another account.

     

    I then deleted that Teams.old directory.  Tested by restarting Teams again and acts normally now.

    Deleting this folder helped. Reinstalling and stuff did nothing to this issue

    Worked perfectly.. I would expect an uninstall option to tidy this up completely.

    The library folder is hidden by default. For those who need help: go to the Home folder, right click anywhere in the folder, and choose "Show View Options", then "Show Library Folder".

      ChrisHoardMVP Sure did for me. I kept getting annoyed for hours, after I had altered/deleted the com.microsoft.teams folder but not the aforementioned folder… Thanks heaps, Heiko1410!

        Same problems after update my MACOSX and the teams software.

         

        MacOSX: 10.15.6

        Teams SW Version: 1.3.00.21753

         

        Error Message after login with business account:

        Teams: desktop-9ca18d2a-9ef3-41f1-bbaa-db42cb327a67

        Fehlercode – 1:403
         
        My solution to delete  $HOME//Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Teams folder don't work in the software version above. But it's interesting my private MS account work and the business account stuck in login loop. Deinstall with AppCleaner and install the Teams_osx.pkg don't work. Any clue how to fix this ??
