Problems Joining meetings, keeps asking for phone permission on android tablet
Hello, i've got a Galaxy tab A 8" (2019) and was using it with teams for my kid, now it doesn't let my kid to join his school clases asking for a phone permission and the permision is already granted, ive already cleared cache, cleared all data an re-login, i've even reset to factory setings the tablet with no luck.
I don't know what else to try to make it work, i've tried with other device (amazon fire tablet, and other samsung tab A6 2016) and works ok.
Any idea what else to do?
Kind Regards
- I've installed the version released on November 17 and it worked properly fortunately.
It's a good news after almost 15 days

Same issue on Samsung S20, was on beta, after leaving no solution.
This has worked for me:
--> left Beta
--> uninstall
--> waited for 2 hours
--> installed the non beta verson
Working again
- Xperia_Five4Copper ContributorI did similar and it worked for me:
1. Clear cache AND storage (probably unnecessary)
2. Uninstall
3. Leave beta
4. I waited roughly 12hrs
5. Reinstalled latest standard release from Play Store
6. Fixed (Phone permission not even needed when working normally)
Clearly this was a beta issue and leaving a beta program doesn't take immediate effect. Lesson learnt.- Rcb21Copper Contributor

I have this same problem on my Google Pixel 6. Started a few days ago with my work email account and providing Phone permission (which shouldn't be required) does not fix the issue. I was part of the developer program (beta program) for the Teams App so I left that program, uninstalled and reinstalled with no success. I have cleared all storage and reinstalled with no success. I am running Android OS 13 with October security update. Worked with my IT guy who has a Pixel 6 Pro running same OS version and he doesn't have the issue and does NOT have Phone Permission allowed. Very frustrating. Suggestions welcome and appreciated.
- Chris_OsterlohCopper ContributorPixel 4xl, same issue. Exiting the beta program did not fix the issue either

kurzs Tried beta and non-beta reinstalls to no avail. Then I did the beta install BUT before I opened it the first time I went in application settings and gave it all the permissions its suppose to have. Then I opened the app and it worked again.

- smiller2421Copper ContributorI downgraded to the teams that came out in early September. It works now. Microsoft needs to fix this.

This resolved the issue for me! Thank you for the suggestion!!

Now it is November 7, can someone from Microsoft please confirm that you work to solve this problem? For me it still doesnt work on my Samsung Android mobile and that is very frustrating...

kurzs go to playstore and remove urself from beta testers. this issue is in Beta version sent you ur playstore and installed. Once you will remove urself and then uninstall the downloaded version. In next 5-10 min after in playstore u will get older version - public version and the issue will be resolved.
- Rcb21Copper ContributorIt worked. As suggested, I removed myself from beta program at the Google Play Store application but reinstalled "just too fast", it didn't worked.
But I read about waiting 12h, so i've waited just 1h or 2h, reinstalled and I've recovered again the ability to connect to a Microsoft Teams Meeting again from my Android device. I confirm symptoms on my side (Always asks for phone permission with that beta version, unable to join to any meetings). - Chris_OsterlohCopper Contributor
Rupesh2210 Did not fix teh issue completely. Still there however I was able to pick up a transferred call. Still can not imitate a new call.

Solution : Problems Joining meetings, keeps asking for phone permission on android
step 1 : Clear all data and cache from teams storage usage (from settings)
step 2 : Then Uninstall teams from ur phone
step 3 : Reinstall teams from Microsoft official website (https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/microsoft-teams/download-app)

- Xperia_Five4Copper ContributorThis doesnt help anyone using Teams through a work profile, many of whom are.
Root cause is the beta release. Uninstall, leave the beta and allow the app to update to current stable version after allowing the servers time to log exiting the beta program.
The lesson here is dont use beta releases for work app that you rely on. I've now left the beta programs for all my work profile apps.
Don't expect MS to act quickly on a beta issue when the risks are made clear and joining a beta program is a choice. If you're upset over the issue, uninstall the beta app.

Really MS. Been over a week and not resolved Beta release yet????? At least remove the problem one so it stops updating when we roll back to a stable version.
- Microsoft have published a new version of Teams app that should solve this, version 1416/1.0.0.2022413901. MS have sent the updated app to Google app store so it will be available in the next few days.
Beta app might already been fixed, have not tested it. - BrendanRankinCopper Contributor
[UPDATE: for me it was because I was using the beta version....which has this bug...]
Yeah, I see this too on my S21Ultra phone, but not on my Android tablet.
Quite annoying as phone access shouldn't be required at all!For what it's worth, here's the version that's working for me
Version: 1416/1.0.0.2022395202/1027
Calling Version: 2022.34.01.8
Just got an update. This version also is working
Version: 1416/1.0.0.2022404302/1101
Calling Version: 2022.38.01.3
- LP4sysCopper ContributorSame problem on my Xiaomi POCO F3. Not a member of beta program anymore so I really don't know what's going on
