This is what we see when the people whose initials are shown dont actually have their camera on.
- TWeinzierlMar 11, 2021Copper ContributorThe issue is that everyone does have the camera on. 😞
- MandM85Mar 07, 2021Copper ContributorHow is this marked as the best response? I understand that this is what it looks like when other people do not have their cameras on, but they DO have their cameras on and they can see each other's and my camera but I cannot see their videos/cameras unless they are presenting or i switch the gallery setting. Then I can see all the cameras, but don't want that setting as cameras are small.
- Yair_AzrielJul 06, 2021Copper ContributorHi, is there any solution for this?
- Brain_MJul 07, 2021Copper ContributorHi , I had fixed the same problem to someone else , a simple software update resolved the issue, but before going that far, I would recommend to try the following steps
Restart the pc
Reinstall teams
Hope your issue is resolved , if it is or if it didn’t plz tell me here .
I’ll be happy to give you more solutions , any of these steps will not harm your device in any way

Make sure you have the latest version - I upgraded mine and it works

Hi everyone. I was having this same issue recently. I could not see anyone's video unless screen sharing was enabled. Also, once it was enabled certain colleagues of mine stated that suddenly MY camera would turn off for them.
I managed to solve the problem though by doing the following:
- Uninstall Teams from Programs & Features
- Close any applications that may be using any Teams add-ins (e.g. Outlook)
- Delete/rename the following folders:
- %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Teams
- %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\TeamsMeetingsAddin
- %AppData%\Microsoft\Teams
- %LocalAppData%\SquirrelTemp
- Download and install the latest version of Teams
Once I had done all of that the problem seemed to disappear. I'm able to see people again in group calls and meetings without screen sharing enabled and they seemed to see me OK as well once sharing was enabled.
Important: This will remove any configuration settings you have made to Teams (e.g. audio/video options, theme) so you will need to reconfigure them again.
Hope it works for you.

Tamara100wrote that "yet others in the meeting can see all the participants on camera. ". gmoseley - if those people didn't have their camera on, others wouldn't be able to see them either.
My son had the same problem today in his Teams class meeting. I don't know what he did but suddenly he could only see the teacher on video - everyone else showed up as either initials or static image in a circle. Everyone else could see everyone on video. Please help!
Thanks!

helloworldkitty Did you get a resolution? I'm having the same problem
- helloworldkittyOct 15, 2020Copper Contributor
Daniel_BlumbergYes, a friend told me that it is a sign of insufficient bandwidth. I upgraded to faster internet package with my provider and the issue got resolved.
