Number of unread chats etc. not showing on the taskbar icon.

Hi,    In Teams, when you had unseen chat messages, the number of them appeared on the Teams icon in the taskbar. I changed to the New Team and this is not showing. It's annoying because I am missi...

Thank you @MongkoIP for your advice.
Our organization switched me to Teams New today. Apparently now I have this number on the icon. I checked the value that you mentioned. Chat message notifications has the value "Show in banner".
We can conclude that the issue of "Number of unread chats not showing on taskbar icon" is now definitely solved.

LievenDB I still can not see the unread message count with the latest version Version 24165.1406.2974.9471 (24165.1406.2974.9471) after switching to the new teams

    I have Microsoft Teams version 24152.415.2975.367.

    I run Windows 11 Enterprise version 23H2 OS Build 22631.3737

    Ref help pages, I find this, but not sure this is the right subject:

    Customize Chats and channels notifications

    • To be notified about Chat message notifications, you can select to have those notifications shown in the banner or turned off.

    I don't see any setting that clearly indicates what we are looking for. These are my settings, but I'm not sure this does the trick.

     

    The only thing I can tell you is that it's possible, but not how.

    It might as well be a Windows 11 setting.
