Notifications for Ad-hoc meetings
Hello
We appear to have instances whereby a recurring teams meeting is created, then a user outside the normal group is invited to attend one of the meetings as a one-off.
however it now appears this extra user receives notifications for all teams chats that relate to the meeting they were invited to, despite them only needing to attend the once.
This could potentially mean confidential / sensitive information be shared in the chat and this person would have visibility despite not being part of the normal recurring meeting
Is there a way round this? the current notification setting for teams is 'mute until i join or send a message'
- Hello, you should utilize this when being rolled out https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=&searchterms=%2C68853
You can go to the meeting chat (top right corner) and remove the individual manually for the time being.

Many thanks for this, i think this is exactly what we are looking for to prevent ad-hoc attendees from receiving chats for meetings they are not part of
