"No Results Found" When Allocating Teams Users Numbers

Hello All,

I have been unable to allocate a Teams Users Number for over a week as of this post, when allocating a number via Teams Admin Portal > Voice > Phone Numbers > Select Number > Edit, then typing any combination of characters into the "Assigned to" box yields an error stating "No Results Found" (Image Attached)

Before this issue started to occur, I could search for any user I wished and if they weren't licensed I'd received an error telling me to license them.

I have tried:

  • Allocating Number via Teams Admin Portal
  • Purchasing Additional Numbers (To rule out a single number issue)
  • Allocating a number via the Legacy SfB Portal
  • Licensing a 2nd user object (To rule out a single user object issue)
  • Within the SfB Portal, allocating the Phone Number to the User - This applied in SfB but never filters through to Teams.

It's worth noting that both licensed user objects, under the SfB Portal > Voice > Voice Users, show as non-active Voice Users (This screen listing all users who previously had a number assigned to them plus these 2 objects)

I am stuck as to where to go next, anyone know of a different way to allocate numbers?

Make sure that your user is licensed with Phone System license
Usage location of that user is matching that country phone number.
You can assign a phone number via PowerShell using Microsoft Teams module and using a command Set-CsPhoneNumberAssignment.

JKSummerfield I also had this issue. Was able to solve it by selecting user in MS 365 admin center, select license there, and activate MS Teams Telephone license for the user.

After that the user was listed in Telephone functions.

The telephone license obviously can only be assigned by going the users directly, not by configuring the app
