New Teams random chat switch when hovering reaction

Yeh I've had this for a few days now. For me it seems to flick back to my prior chat/channel upon replying or reacting to a chat message. But not always.

In my case, I have a couple of "pinned" group chats, had just added a "fingers crossed" reaction to a colleague's message and was moving the mouse away when "suddenly" Teams switched to the top-most non-pinned chat.
I've got teams version 24152.412.2958.9166 and client 49/24053101421.
I've noticed it do this before and just thought "that was weird" but this time I figured I'd google to see if anyone else had had this problem ... and found this post.
