Hi everyone - please use the following mitigation plan for this issue while we work with Lenovo to uncover more of the root cause/solution to this: Lenovo Yoga L13 might shut down during Teams meetings (microsoft.com).
Sam Cosby,Teams Engineering PM
I have tried several things... also complete new reinstallation of Windows 10. Same issues on my 25 Lenovo Yoga L13
Will we continue to investigate this issue can you and others please try this to prevent the unwelcome shutdown?
- Right-click the battery icon in the task bar, select Power Options:
2. Click "Change plan settings":
3. Click "Change advanced power settings":
4. Expand Processor power management -> Maximum processor state node, change both "On battery" and "Plugged in" options to 99%, then click OK to dismiss:
5. Reboot
Please note this is not the outcome, but we hope this will at least prevent the rebooting.
Please let us know how this works or does not work for anyone using these devices.

bwilson Just a quick update. I made the Power changes on the 4 problem L13 laptops and so far after 48 hours no reported shutdowns. I would like to add that this morning a 5th (mine) shut down when I joined a TEAMS meeting. Up until now it has been the L13's with the i5 processor and 8gb ram. I have not used mine for 3-4 weeks as I've been using the problem laptops so I can troubleshoot them live. I was still on a 1.3 version of TEAMS and my laptop is an L13 however I have an i7 with 16gb ram. The good news is I changed the power settings and was successfully in a meeting for the duration (35 minutes). Fingers crossed and hope I didn't jinx things! JD

It is the same for us except only on the Gen1's L13 i5 8GBRAM we have a couple of Gen2's issued that have not reported the issue...so far!
My own is a Gen2 but the i7/16GBRAM no issues. - bwilsonFeb 24, 2021

Thanks everyone for the replies and assisting us here. Glad to hear it is working so far, and please let us know any successes or failures in testing. Sorry I was away for most of the day yesterday and couldn't reply but thank you all for taking the time to post back here.
- aLiEnMuNkEeFeb 24, 2021Copper ContributorThanks Brad, We're testing this on two of the 40 Gen1 YOGA's we have issued to see if it makes any difference.

Thanks bwilson for posting this early today!
Hi everyone - we should note as well that this is indeed only a mitigation, not a solution, towards this issue. For users who have reported this issue and are seeing this problem, please have them do the following as this was validated from an internal repro of the issue through a L13 device that was prepped to what we've seen from others who've reported the issue.
Microsoft is working with Lenovo to understand the specific root cause, but it appears a recent driver update from Lenovo helped trigger this issue along with the use of Teams while in a Meeting. See the list of Lenovo drivers related to BIOS/power/thermal management below for reference.Best,
Sam

Hi Sam Cosby,
I have a new Asus Vivobook and getting this issue of regularly shutting down and reboot on Teams calls continuously also. Incredibly frustrating and unprofessional image i'm sure you can appreciate.
I note this thread is from 2021 but at the back end of the comments, there are notes coming in again. Is this a new issue now occurring on Asus and Acer machines and is there a known fix for these machines?
Thanks.- Jinky67Oct 06, 2023Copper Contributor
MeMark1675Hi, I also have the same problem with a recently purchased Asus VivoBook laptop (X515JA - i7-1065G7). Aside from the unprofessional image as indicated, my laptop has shut down 3 times this morning during a job interview conducted using Microsoft Teams. This is a shutdown without a restart. A fault description is shown in the "bad_module_info" page found in
Control Panel >All Control Panel Items >Security and Maintenance >Problem Details
Unfortunately if I try to paste that information page on here it reverts me back to typing all this in all over again. Like many previous threads on this issue I am amazed that this issue is not given a higher priority and would request that a date be provided please for when it will be resolved.

Still working with Lenovo for a long-term fix but as of now, the workaround provided is what should be leveraged for a current solution to this problem. You should not see any machine performance dip when you set this.
- KnightmareFeb 23, 2021Copper ContributorHi Sam and Brad,
Thanks for the info. I will try the power management suggestion and see what happens for users who are affected. Regarding the drivers. Lenovo suggested to try and install the above drivers, I have tried this but Teams still shuts down the laptop. Noticed today there is a new version of Teams v14.00.4167, will give this version a try and again monitor. Another strange thing is why doesn't this problem happen to all L13's? I am using a L13 but I do not get this issue and I have updated everything on the system (ran system update, Windows update).- aLiEnMuNkEeFeb 24, 2021Copper Contributorhttps://www.reddit.com/r/MicrosoftTeams/comments/lg7l9h/new_version_thread_v2/

Thanks Eric! Let us know please. 🙂

bwilson Thanks Brad, will give this a try, fingers crossed. Unfortunately the randomness of this problem has been the most frustrating aspect. I can go days without a problem then it happens numerous times throughout the day or days then stops again.
