MS Teams: Background Image in software client vs. web version
Numerous people wish to speak to me via MS Teams. I have the software client installed on my desktop and here I have added a custom background image for calls. So far, so good.
However, whenever I click on a Teams invitation sent to me as email (Outlook) I land in a web version in which a) my background is missing and b) my background cannot even be uploaded. Even the "blur background" function is visible but deactivated.
I am not given the option of joining the call via my Desktop (where the MS Teams client is installed).
(I also find no way of joining the call by typing the call ID into the desktop client).
In the lower left corner there is a prompt "log in for a better experience"; when I click on the link, I land on a Teams screen telling me to log in, but I have no possibility to do so.
This is causing significant embarassment and seems absolutely ridiculous. Much simpler on Zoom.
Is there a solution? (I have Office365)
It's hard to understand exactly what you have and don't have from this description. Make sure you have downloaded Teams for Work and School from Download Microsoft Teams Desktop and Mobile Apps | Microsoft Teams.
There is no need to log in or open the app, jsut click the link in Outlook and when you see this screen
Choose to Join using the Teams App.
