Mobile Teams Notifications Reporting Incorrectly

I previously reported feedback from my mobile teams app in regards to receiving incorrect # of  new notifications.  If I get one "like" or one new message, the app tells me that I have 5 or 6. 

The previous solution I was given was to sign into my teams web version & check all channels for new messages, or if someone has been added/left a team channel.  I seem to be doing this daily now as well as multiple times.    I have reached out for feedback multiple times since & I have not received a response.   The problem seems to be getting worse. 

I have uninstalled & reinstalled the app as well.   I am not sure what to do now... this is very frustrating as that I rely on my teams app to tell me when I have something new to respond to & I need this to be accurate.
