Microsoft Teams – Override the Windows (Apps & Websites) language.

Description

When we try to change the Language setting of Apps & websites from English to French since end user is French speaking user and he wants every apps and websites to be in French language. But when user try to access the Microsoft teams, the display language of teams is still in English.

Solution:

There is a setting in Microsoft teams where we can change the display language for the teams alone which will override the Windows (Apps & Websites) language. Follow the steps below.

• Go to Teams click the three dots icon in the right corner of the teams’ window.

• Click option “Settings” and you will see Language Option under General.
• Change the Language under App Language and save the settings.
• Teams will be restarted, and language will be changed as set under Microsoft Teams App Language.

Known Limitations:

When Organization default language is English and French speaking user need to change it to French then they must change both Windows Apps & Websites and Microsoft Teams settings.
