Microsoft Team storage.

we have Microsoft office 365 . and it gives 1 tb storage in one drive for each use. Now we are planning to use MS teams. but i do want to confirm few the b4 using it.  when creating team or uploadi...

Hi TalalJavaid

- For files in channels it uses SharePoint Storage, for files in private chat it uses OneDrive


- SharePoint storage comes in a common pool: it is 1Tb + 10Gb per licence purchased (see link below)

 

- You could potentially restrict Teams storage by restricting the SharePoint storage, however it's not really recommended (see string https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Teams/Storage-Quota-for-Microsoft-Teams/td-p/106923). However, this article will discuss more about storage and limits (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/limits-specifications-teams) 


- Can purchase additional file storage for SharePoint should it hit the site limit directly through billing if you are direct with Microsoft or via your CSP Partner (see link below)

Thanks for the detail Information. Pretty much understood just few clarifications.

as you told me , SharePoint storage comes in a common pool: it is 1Tb + 10Gb per licence purchased 

i have 35 users. so my total share point storage will be 1Tb+ (10GB + 35 User) = 1TB + 350 GB ??

 

can you share me a link or explain location from where i can monitor the usage of our organization's share point storage . And if required, delete data from share point storage .
