Members between Teams and SharePoint

Hi all,

I'm quite new to SharePoint and Teams, so apologies if this is quite a simple question.

 

Currently there is a team in Teams, which I believe is connected to the SharePoint Page.

What is required is that the Teams group is only accessible/readable by certain people, whereas the SharePoint page can be accessed by a larger group of people.

At the moment, from what I understand, anyone who has been approved access to the SharePoint page also is added to the Teams group.

 

Is there a way I can set up SharePoint and Team to have only certain people see Teams and SharePoint, and only a certain group of people have access to SharePoint?

    If you are a member of the Office 365 group you will have access to both the Team and the SharePoint site. But you can give other explicit permissions on the SP site. Visitors group for example
