Meet Now Meeting Chat not updating

We have Meet Nows in a number of channels in a Team where the Chat feed is not consistently updating for all participants. It is not necessarily a system issue as I am monitoring two meetings in different Team at the moment and Chat is refreshing in one but not the other.

It's an important issue as these are pupils attending remote classes due to Covid 19 self isolation
