Pretty cheap, but takes up a display head and a physical display connection. Note that Nvidia & Intel GPUs limit you to 4 display heads. AMD typically allows for 6, and macs are all over the place. 1-8 heads depending on the product segment.
You also have to deal with positioning the fake display within your operating system's display settings. As far as I know, none of them support HDCP. Which will nerf quality on Amazon Prime video or Netflix when the emulator is connected.
Once you have all that figured out it's usable, but it's far less preferable to OBS Virtual Camera.
