Location Services in Team Status

Hello,

I am trying to update my location status in Microsoft Teams.  Currently it says Out of Office even though I am working in the Southlake TX location.  The only thing I see for locations is in settings and it's enabled.  I wanted the similar functionality that I had in Jabber.  When I was at home my location would say WFH and when at the office it would say Southlake, TX.  Is this available in Teams or am I missing something in the Teams settings?

Thanks,

Chris Johnson

  • Currently there is nothing in Teams to allow this automatically. If they would add a Trigger in flow for it you could utilize location based tracking to do this, but you can't access the status yet as far as I'm aware.

The Out of Office you have is because you probably have an entry in your calendar set to OOF "Show as" which Teams automatically picks up and turns your status based on that calendar entry itself.

      Ian Moran That worked.  Thanks!

I also found the cause for my "Out of Office" status.  Basically one of my team members had PTO that I accepted.  When I accepted it Outlook thought I was out of office as well based on the invitation.

Yup that’ll do it. Hate when people send out of office meetings 🙄. Got to remember to mark them as free when accepting.
