Issue: Bluetooth earphones can hear teams ring audio, but no voice
Hellovkhasilev
Never found a solution. I'm running a more stable teams setup now with PC speakers used for audio, a separate high fidelity mic on boom for voice. I gave up trying to use a single bluetooth device as both audio and voice as windows did not seem to support very well at the same time.

ThereseSolimeno Yes, that article seems still valid. I would add that I tried several BT 5.0 headsets (WH1000mx3, WH1000mx4, and Bose 700) with two different BT 5.0 dongles and the behavior was exactly the same in all cases. Windows support is mediocre and in Teams it is even worse as many of us described earlier.

The problem has been solved on mac OS Catalina at least with mac earbuds.

Just bumped into the same issue and it turns out that with my Valco VMK20 headsets the issue was that I had the "headset" -version of the output device (under Sound Settings -> Manage sound devices) disabled.
Now it works if I select the "headset" version of the VMK20's as output and the same "headset" version as microphone in Teams.
If I try to use the "headphones" version of the VMK20 as output and the "headset" VMK20 as microphone, I do not get audio in Teams meetings at all. When doing a test call, I will have same experience as the others in this discussion - I only hear the ringing tone, then I get a one short audible sound (sounds like someone a soft "tap" sound) and then nothing.
Still the Teams test call reports that all the audio devices are working correctly.
I have attached the screenshots from the working settings - hope that this helps someone.
