Integration for locally stored Third Party Apps (Windows 10)
Hi there,
I just made my first contacts with Teams. The company I am working with has an Office365 infrastructure, and first tests with Office documents worked well. I can create, edit and save them from the Teams application. Great.
Now I'd like to have the same functionality for some of my other apps, I edit pictures with Photoshop, draw schematics with KiCAD, do programming using Visual Studio and Eclipse. None of those programs seem available as a "Teams" enabled app.
In other words, I am looking for a way to associate those files with the application stored on my local Windows 10 workstation.
I have been researching a while now, and found nothing. Yes, there are some apps presented in the Teams "Get More Apps" library, but honestly saying I didn't find too much useful software there.
Did I miss something? Is there a way to integrate my local WIndows software into Teams?
Thnx, Armin.
ArminLinder970 Its not really possible like that, the files remain stored in SharePoint/OneDrive and those apps wouldn't understand how to open them/save like Office does.
There is a button marked sync however, this will trigger the OneDrive app (if you have it installed) to make it appear that these files are available in a local folder, so then you can open explorer to see the files as if local, and then you can open them directly.
