Inappropriate gif option in teams?
- Dec 18, 2019
Hi,
Microsoft does not manage these gifs, it is handled by an external service called Giphy. So reporting it to Microsoft won't help you. And changing policy to Strict will not stop this GIF, it will still be there.
Giphy uses the MPAA rating (Y, G, PG, PG-13, and R) and the GIF you sent is rated G. G = "GENERAL AUDIENCES" (Nothing that would offend parents for viewing by children.). Strict will not remove gifs rated G.
https://www.motionpictures.org/film-ratings/So instead you should go to Giphy.com and search for that gif and report it.

Although you can set restrictions to strict both in a messaging policy or per team basis in the Teams settings! Try set this to strict and find the gif again
adam deltinger & Andrew Hodges thanks for the advice. Our organization is currently set to moderate. I updated to strict and it was still there about 1.5 hours after I changed the setting. I'll test again tomorrow, but suspect that image has made it through the strict filter.
