I cannot create a bullet list anymore in teams chat
Hi everyone, would be great if someone can help me. Since recently I cannot add a bullet list in the teams chat anymore. If I add one bullet and then I enter the whole message gets posted. If I do a shift+enter I can go to the next line but then no bullet is being shown. This always worked but from one day to another it doesn't anymore. Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this?

- I also noticed this starting this week.
workaround appears to be opening the "format editor" button. The A with the pencil on the bottom left corner of your message. Then the list stays active as you press enter. Of course, now you cannot press enter to send the message...

- Yes. MS should fix this. It must be bug or misunderstanding of how users use Teams.
- This bug has been affecting Teams for a month now, breaking one of the key functionalities... and MS still hasn't fixed it.
This is extremely frustrating, especially when compared to the pace of fixes by their main competitor. - the curious thing is: it works in the groups as before but not in chats. Not sure what the thinking behind this is. Plz MS explain.
- I doubt this was an intentional change. Why would it still start the list when you type "1. <space>" if the goal was to disable the auto formatting of lists. I think they have a bug and it is clearly not a high priority to fix.
- Combining all of the previous tips:
Just press CTRL-SHIFT-X twice in a row at any time during the composition of the message and the original behavior is restored for that message. Fix it Microsoft! You're being really annoying with all these bugs.
Joining the choir - please revert to the previous way of working. My colleagues think I am becoming stupid since all of my bulleted list messages are half-written.
I've also been running into this lately and it's driving me crazy.
- Solution: Switch format mode on and then off again. (Format mode is the first icon that has the letter "A" and a pencil).
Just summarizing for people wanting a quick answer. Thanks, gmangsxr750 for figuring it out. - agree - old way was much simpler - why did MS need to change it?
- I would consider this a regression defect, or a misunderstanding for how users work in the system. Either way, it should be fixed.
