How to change audio device settings on plugging in webcam?

I routinely need to move my webcam to and from various PCs, which is a chore.

Usually, Teams recognises the Webcam being plugged in and changes its settings to utilise the webcam for both camera and microphone. However, often, it does not. It switches to webcam for camera, but not microphone.

Try as I might, I haven't tracked down the reason for this apparent inconsistency.

Is there a way I can change the Teams device settings via the cmd line or similar? Then I could have some code triggered when I plug in the webcam, that checks settings and corrects them if needed.
