GIFs added via mobile app (copy/paste) not animated in Desktop Apps (Win10 / macOS)

I realize that the built-in GIF feature in MS Teams is provided by Giphy. However, I just received a GIF via Chat that was sent with copy/paste on Mobile App (iOS). It did not show as animated on Desktop App (tried with Win10 v1.3.00.26064 and macOS v1.3.00.26266). However, when opening the chat on mobile app (iOS), I was able to see the animated GIF. Is there a way to allow for animated GIFs (not provided by Gifphy) in the desktop apps?
